Katie led the charge for our weekly trip up to KnArrow Haus. During the week she chose the paint color and purchased primer, paint and painting accoutrements. We ventured up Saturday, but Katie gets 90% of the credit for moving things forward. I was more a figurehead and chaperone than a contributing team member -- still recovering from shoulder surgery and sporting a stomach bug since Thursday, so I'm operating at diminished capacity. I spent an uncharacteristic amount of time in a chair tending the fire and watching the snow fall outside.
Katie spent the day taping and masking to protect the (as-yet unsealed) concrete floors. We are doing a trimless installation, so the paint goes all the way all the way down to the floor.
Sammie assumed quality control responsibilities for Katie's taping.
Installed a new crossbrace to reinforce the temporary staircase.
My contribution on the day was to remove some of the concrete form boards around the stairwells; and I reinforced the staircase to the upstairs (shown above), which we will continue to relying on until the permanent stairs are installed.
Four to 5 inches of snow fell on Schneewagen while we were there.
Coming soon: Priming the walls.
